When asked about the buzz surrounding Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha and Ulajh, Johar commented, "Buzz for both the movies are underpar. Both the films are hugely dependent on word of mouth. The surprising factor is, for a film like Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha with Ajay, Tabu and Neeraj Panday, the attraction is a little bit low. But, I believe, the makers have kept themselves under the radar because they strongly rely on word of mouth or shock value or the surprise value that the film will give to the audiences and that will help the collections jump over the weekend, and the long run."

Discussing Ulajh further, Johar noted, "Ulajh is not a hardcore commercial entertainer; it is a niche urban thriller for metro audiences. The target audience has liked the trailer, but again, it will largely depend on word of mouth. The movie is coming from a good team, but reviews and word of mouth has to be good."

When asked about potential first-day earnings for both films, Johar estimated that Ulajh could earn around Rs. 1-2 crore at the box office initially. However, this figure could fluctuate based on audience feedback. On the other hand, he predicted that Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha might open with Rs. 3-6 crore depending on word of mouth and could grow thereafter.

The success of both films seems to hinge significantly on audience reactions post-release. While Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha features well-known stars like Ajay Devgn and Tabu under Neeraj Pandey's direction, its initial buzz remains surprisingly low. Conversely, Ulajh targets a more specific urban demographic with its thriller genre.
