Arjun Kapoor Reflects On His Deep Emotional Bond With Sister Janhvi Kapoor Following Family Tragedy
The passing of Sridevi in 2018 profoundly impacted the Kapoor family, altering their relationships. Arjun Kapoor and his sister Anshula grew closer to their half-sisters, Janhvi and Khushi Kapoor. This shared tragedy united them, creating a strong bond through mutual grief. The unexpected closeness highlighted how difficult times can sometimes strengthen family ties.
The siblings from Boney Kapoor's marriages to Mona Kapoor and Sridevi faced many challenges. Before Sridevi's death, Arjun and Anshula had a distant relationship with their father. However, her passing brought them closer not only to each other but also to their father. Arjun reflected on these changes, noting the comfort he finds in conversations with Janhvi and Khushi.

In a podcast with Raj Shamani, Arjun discussed his emotional journey with his sisters. He said, "I think I am the most vulnerable with my sisters, which is a good thing. Because when I got connected with Janhvi and Khushi, the circumstances that were there, there was nothing left. We were at the lowest in terms of... Me and Anshula had experienced something, then Janhvi and Khushi were going through something that we wouldn't wish for our worst enemies and it happened in our house. So we started with being vulnerable."
Mona Kapoor, Boney's first wife, passed away from cancer in 2012. Boney's marriage to Sridevi introduced Janhvi and Khushi into the family. Despite previous distance, Arjun and Anshula supported their father and half-sisters after Sridevi's death. This act of unity demonstrated the strength of familial bonds during tough times.
Arjun shared how his relationships evolved post-tragedy: "Now when I talk to Janhvi, Khushi and Anshula, I feel the most myself with them, it's a strange thing. I have spoken about such things with Janhvi that I never even confessed to my own self. And she is wise also, so she understands. I share everything with Anshula. When I don't say something, she comes and sits with me and I just naturally start speaking. I am very blessed that my sisters have allowed me to be open."
Sridevi's passing was a turning point for the Kapoor siblings, transforming their relationships unexpectedly. The shared experience of loss led them to find closeness they hadn't known before. Their journey of healing showcased love's power in overcoming adversity.
