Mohini Dey Addresses Media Speculation Following AR Rahman And Saira Banu Divorce Announcement

AR Rahman-Saira Banu Divorce: The recent news of AR Rahman and Saira Banu ending their 30-year marriage has captured significant attention. This was further amplified when Mohini Dey, the bassist in Rahman's band, announced her own divorce shortly after. Speculation arose about a possible romantic link between Rahman and Dey, leading to widespread media scrutiny and online trolling.

On Monday, Mohini Dey addressed these rumours through an Instagram video. She criticised the media for distorting her relationship with AR Rahman. In the video, she described Rahman as a father figure and urged people to stop spreading false information. Her caption read, "It is utterly unbelievable to see the amount of misinformation and baseless assumptions/claims against me & @arrahman. It feels criminal that the media has vulgarised the two events. I honour my times as a kid working with @arrahman throughout my 8.5 years of working with him for his movies, tours, etc. Its disheartening to see that people have no respect, sympathy or empathy towards emotional matters like this. It saddens me to see people's state of mind."

Mohini Dey Responds to Divorce Speculation

Mohini elaborated on her bond with AR Rahman by stating that he is akin to a father to her. She expressed gratitude for having several mentors who have influenced her career and personal growth. Among them are her late father, Ranjit Barot who introduced her to the industry, Louiz Banks who helped shape her skills, and AR Rahman who allowed her creative freedom in his projects.

She concluded her message by asking for an end to the spread of misinformation: "I cherish and treasure that and will always do! Media/Paps do not understand the affect it has on people's minds and lives. Be sensitive. I dont owe anyone any explainations but also, I dont want this to brew and interupt my day so, Kindly stop with the false claims & Respect our privacy."
