Anjali Anand Discusses Body Shaming And The Pressure Of Beauty Standards In Entertainment
Anjali Anand, known for her role in "Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani," recently shared insights during a year-end roundtable discussion. Currently captivating audiences as Radhika in "Raat Jawaan Hai," Anjali is celebrated for her bold and confident persona. She candidly discussed the worst advice she has ever received.
Reflecting on this experience, Anjali recounted, "The worst advice I've ever received was when someone told me, 'If you lose weight now, you'll look better.' I asked them, 'Is there a problem with how I look now?' and they responded, 'No, but you'll look better.'

Anjali elaborated on facing body-shaming, stating, "I have never, in my life, thought of myself as lesser than anyone else. I am the most confident person in any room I walk into, and I've always been that way. I have no issue with the way I am, but there has always been this narrative that 'you can achieve more if you lose weight.' The truth is, I know so many girls who are skinny and still struggling."
"I, on the other hand, am thoroughly enjoying the work I'm doing. I've learned that patience is key in this line of work-if you're consistent and persistent, everything eventually falls into place," she adds.
Anjali's remarks shed light on the societal pressures women face in showbiz. By remaining authentic to herself, she continues to defy traditional beauty standards. Her journey underscores the importance of self-acceptance and confidence amidst external expectations.
