Ananya Panday Highlights Importance Of Female Friendships At Prime Video’s Maitri Event

Ananya Panday, who began her acting career in 2019, has made significant strides, especially with the success of Prime Video's series "Call Me Bae." Recently, at Prime Video's Maitri: Female First Collective event, she reflected on her early experiences as a woman in the film industry. Ananya discussed how she found her voice and stressed the importance of fostering a supportive environment for her peers.

"I think I've become a lot more vocal about what I stand for. What keeps me going is seeing change; knowing that speaking up or even through cinema you can actually make an impact. Even if one young girl comes up to me and says I am myself because you are yourself and I feel comfortable in my skin, for me that's where I have done my job. I think seeing change is a huge reason why I keep going," Ananya shared.

Ananya also highlighted the significance of female friendships in showbiz. She mentioned how women are often pitted against each other but emphasized that with Sara Ali Khan and Jahnavi Kapoor, they strive to support one another openly. "They keep pitting women against each other, actresses against actresses, but with Sara and Jahnavi it's not a very conscious attempt, we constantly try to be there for each other and support each other very publicly, so that we are showing people this is how female friendships are supposed to be like, don't believe any other way," she added.

The Maitri: Female First Collective was introduced by Prime Video in 2022. This initiative seeks to establish a secure environment for women involved in Indian media and entertainment. It encourages them to share their experiences, challenges, and achievements while offering insights on promoting positive changes within the industry.

Ananya's journey reflects her commitment to using her platform for positive influence. Her dedication to supporting fellow actresses and advocating for change showcases the evolving dynamics of female relationships in Bollywood. Her efforts contribute significantly to creating a more inclusive and supportive industry environment.
