Anant Ambani's Vantara Champions Wildlife Rescue And Rehabilitation Efforts

In the tranquil surroundings of Jamnagar, Gujarat, Anant Bhai Ambani's Vantara emerges as a beacon of hope for animals in distress. This sanctuary, with its comprehensive approach to rehabilitation, offers a safe haven for its inhabitants, ensuring their physical and emotional recovery. Vantara's mission is not just to provide refuge but to lead global efforts in wildlife rehabilitation, making it a unique initiative in the preservation of wildlife.

Founded by Anant Ambani and supported by Reliance Industries and Reliance Foundation, Vantara, which translates to "Star of The Forest," is situated within the sprawling 3000-acre Jamnagar Refinery Complex. It stands as a sanctuary for animals suffering from abuse, injury, or the threat of extinction, offering them a chance at a new life.

Vantara Leads in Wildlife Aid

A testament to Vantara's commitment to animal welfare was vividly illustrated in a daring rescue operation that saw the liberation of Elephant Pratima and her calf from Tripura. Mobilizing a convoy of six vehicles and a dedicated team of 22 staff members, Vantara embarked on a 3500-kilometer journey from Jamnagar to Tripura in just 24 hours to rescue the elephants. This operation highlights the lengths to which Vantara will go to ensure the well-being of animals in need.

The relocation of Pratima and her calf was preceded by extensive treatment by Vantara's specialists. A veterinary surgeon who examined them found Pratima suffering from multiple wounds, severe stiffness in her limbs, and partial blindness. Both she and her calf were also battling malnutrition.

Despite ongoing treatment from local veterinarians, Dr. Ghatare highlighted the critical condition of Pratima and her calf, emphasizing the urgent need for intensive care and adequate nutrition for their survival. Their story is not just one of survival but of hope, underscored by compelling evidence including before-and-after images and veterinary records that showcase Vantara's excellence in wildlife rescue and rehabilitation.

Vantara's infrastructure is equipped to provide continuous care for up to 500 elephants, ensuring that no animal in need is ever turned away. This commitment was further validated by a release from PETA, which revealed that Pratima and her calf were being unlawfully held without an ownership certificate, suffering from neglect that included emaciation and injuries.

Under the expert care of Vantara's dedicated team, including two veterinarians Dr. Jahan from Gauhati, Pratima and her calf are now on a path to recovery. With round-the-clock medical attention and compassionate support, their remarkable transformation is not just a testament to their resilience but also to Vantara's unwavering dedication to animal welfare.
