Amit Trivedi Crafts Unheard Sounds For Khalbali Records, Streaming On JioCinema

Khalbali Records, the highly anticipated musical drama, is set to premiere on JioCinema Premium. The trailer has already sparked significant interest and received positive feedback. The series delves into the rivalry between commercial music and the rap and indie music scenes. It features a talented cast including Ram Kapoor, Saloni Batra, Skand Thakur, Salonie Patel, EPR, and Kumar Varun. Directed by Devanshu Singh, the show brings its musical theme to life with soulful tracks by Amit Trivedi and unique indie hip-hop songs from Azadi Records.

Devanshu Singh shared insights about the making of Khalbali Records, stating, "Creating a show involves as much work as making at least two films. Especially when you're both the showrunner and the director, you pour your heart into it. It gets very challenging to make 23 songs, shoot in different cities, and tell the stories of so many actors. Yet, I had the opportunity to work on 23 songs, including 6 with Amit Trivedi and 17 with independent artists. The joy of this accomplishment far outweighs the difficulties. The songs Amit Trivedi has created for this album are unlike anything he has made before, so he is also quite excited about it."

The series showcases rappers from various regions such as Kashmir, South India, and Delhi. Each artist brings their own perspective and reality to their music. Devanshu Singh elaborated on this aspect by saying, "Our show features rappers from diverse regions like Kashmir, South India, and Delhi. Every artist, in some way, speaks from their own world and reality, which is why this show is close to the truth. One artist explores a slightly Sufi zone, another discusses the contemporary world, and another reflects on their own environment. This show is saying that art is above the artist, and the artist who understands this stays alive and rises above while the artist who becomes bigger than art falls."

Directing Khalbali Records was no small feat for Devanshu Singh. He highlighted that creating a series involves extensive effort akin to making multiple films. The process included producing 23 songs and filming across different cities while narrating numerous stories through various actors.

The collaboration with Amit Trivedi resulted in six unique tracks for the series. Additionally, seventeen songs were created with independent artists. This blend of mainstream and indie music adds depth to the show's narrative.

Khalbali Records will be available exclusively on JioCinema Premium starting 12th September.
