ALT EFF 2024 Announces Winners: India's Miles Away Named Best Indian Feature Film

India's premier environment-focused cinema event, the All Living Things Environmental Film Festival (ALT EFF) 2024, has revealed this year's winners. The festival will run from 22nd November to 8th December, featuring 72 films globally. These films aim to highlight crucial environmental issues through storytelling. The winners were chosen by a diverse jury including Dia Mirza, C.S. Venkiteswaran, Swati Thiyagarajan, and Yuvan Aves.

The festival's categories include International Feature Films, International Short Films, Environmental Journalism, Indian Feature Films, Indian Short Films, and Animated Films. This variety underscores ALT EFF's dedication to showcasing global voices on urgent environmental topics.

Miles Away Wins Best Indian Feature at ALT EFF 2024

This year's top honours went to "The Giants," directed by Rachael Antony and Laurence Billiet, winning Best of Festival. "ORCA: Black & White Gold" by Sarah Norenberg secured Best International Feature. Megha Acharya's "Miles Away" was awarded Best Indian Feature.

In the short film categories, Spencer Macdonald's "A Body Called Life" won Best International Short, while "Junk-e" by Ayush Ray and Ritam Sarkar took Best Indian Short. Mayuresh Hendre's "Saving The Bone Swallower" received the Best Student Film award.

"Wild Summon," created by Karni and Saul, was named Best Animated Film. Urja's work on "Camels of the Sea" earned recognition for Best in Environmental Journalism.
