In a recent interview, Sanjay Leela Bhansali discussed Alia Bhatt's reaction when Inshallah was cancelled. He shared that the news had a profound impact on her mental state. "She broke down, she cracked up, cried, raved, ranted, and locked herself in a room," he revealed.

Reports indicate that about a week after the cancellation of Inshallah, Bhansali approached Alia for Gangubai Kathiawadi. This role eventually earned her a prestigious National Award. Alia previously expressed how overwhelming the transition was for her: "From LA, where I was supposed to play the character in Inshallah, I suddenly found myself in Kamathipura. I didn't know if I could do it."

In his recent conversation, Bhansali highlighted how Alia transformed into the resilient character of Gangu. He mentioned that this role has become an integral part of her identity now.

Alia is set to appear in another project by Sanjay Leela Bhansali titled Love And War. She will star alongside Vicky Kaushal and her husband Ranbir Kapoor in this love triangle film slated for release in 2026.

The actress is also preparing for Jigra, where she will share the screen with Vedang Raina. This movie is scheduled for theatrical release on October 11.
