Ali Fazal And Richa Chadha Host Jiu Jitsu Workshop To Empower Young Girls In Self-Defense
Richa Chadha and Ali Fazal have taken a distinctive approach to empowerment by collaborating with NGO Mukkamaar. They organised a Jiu Jitsu workshop led by world champions Andressa Citra and Lucas Valente. This initiative aims to teach girls self-defense skills, enhancing their confidence and resilience.
MukkaMaar Girls, founded by actor Ishita Sharma, is an esteemed NGO dedicated to empowering girls through martial arts and athletic training. The organisation focuses on helping young girls assert their agency in various aspects of life.

Richa Chadha expressed her views on the importance of self-defense, stating, "Self-defense isn't just about fighting back; it's about building confidence, resilience, and awareness. And when we learnt that Andressa would be interested, we put together this unique one day workshop . We're proud to be partnering with MukkaMaar Girls, an organization that has been empowering young girls through self-defense for years."
Ali Fazal shared his enthusiasm for the event, saying, "I have been training in Jiu Jitsu, and having the Mukkamaar children meet with Andressa, meant that they'd have such a solid role model, in terms of what they can become. Especially for the young girls to meet a world champ and learn from her one on one, even if it was for a few hours, is so inspiring and fantastic for them."
Ishita Sharma praised Andressa's influence on the participants: "Andressa is absolutely inspiring and you can tell that she is a world champion in the way she moves, speaks, coaches! Our fellows learnt some killer moves and we can't wait to work with her again. Thanks to Richa and Ali for doing this and always having MukkaMaar's back."
Apart from their involvement with Mukkamaar, Richa Chadha and Ali Fazal are known advocates for gender equality and social justice. Recently, they celebrated their daughter's birth by distributing sweets to the media. They also planted trees in drought-stricken areas through the Nabhangan Foundation.
Their efforts highlight their commitment to creating positive change in society. By supporting initiatives like Mukkamaar's workshop, they continue to inspire others to contribute towards empowerment and equality.
