Akshay Kumar Edges Out John Abraham In First Weekend Box Office Showdown
Akshay Kumar, known for his Independence Day releases, is currently in the spotlight due to his latest film, Khel Khel Mein. The movie faced a box office clash with Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor's Stree 2 and John Abraham's Vedaa. This marks Akshay's third box office competition with John Abraham, generating excitement among fans.
The previous clashes between Akshay and John include Gold vs Satyameva Jayate in 2018 and Mission Mangal vs Batla House in 2019. Fans were eager to see who would come out on top this time. Both Khel Khel Mein and Vedaa received an average response at the box office, leading to a tight competition between the two films.

Vedaa initially outperformed Khel Khel Mein on its opening day. However, Akshay's comedy-drama took the lead over John's action drama during the first weekend. According to Sacnilk, Khel Khel Mein earned Rs 3.85 crores on its fourth day (first Sunday), bringing its total collection to Rs 14.05 crores. In comparison, Vedaa collected Rs 3.2 crores on the same day, reaching a total of Rs 14 crores.
The margin between the two films remains narrow, making it intriguing to see if John Abraham can surpass Akshay Kumar in the coming days. Despite the competition, Akshay Kumar downplayed the significance of box office clashes. He remarked, "Clashes at the box office keep happening. It's not a big deal at all. It's just a clash and not a slash."
As both movies continue their run in theatres, audiences are keenly watching which film will ultimately dominate the box office. The rivalry between Akshay Kumar and John Abraham adds an extra layer of interest to this cinematic battle.
