Akshay Kumar Visits Abu Dhabi's First Hindu Stone Temple Before PM Modi Inaugurates It
On Wednesday, actor Akshay Kumar arrived in Abu Dhabi, marking a significant moment ahead of the inauguration of the city's first Hindu stone temple. The temple, a monumental structure, will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This event is not just a cultural milestone but also showcases the fusion of ancient architectural practices with modern scientific techniques. Akshay Kumar, known for his contributions to Indian cinema, was seen in a traditional white and golden kurta, accompanied by his security team for this auspicious occasion.
The BAPS Hindu Mandir, as the temple is known, represents a marvel of construction, incorporating over 300 high-tech sensors to monitor temperature and seismic activities. Remarkably, the construction avoids the use of metal; instead, fly ash fills the foundation. This grand temple stands on a 27-acre site in Abu Mreikhah, near Al Rahba off the Dubai-Abu Dhabi Sheikh Zayed Highway. The construction of this spiritual edifice by the BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha came at an approximate cost of Rs 700 crore.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Abu Dhabi is packed with significant engagements, including the signing of multiple bilateral agreements with the UAE. Following the 'Ahlan Modi' event, which witnessed extensive participation from the Indian diaspora, PM Modi is scheduled to inaugurate the largest Hindu stone temple in Abu Dhabi on Wednesday evening. This event is part of his broader two-day visit to the Gulf region, which will also include meetings with leadership in Qatar in Doha.
The inauguration of the BAPS Hindu Mandir in Abu Dhabi by Prime Minister Narendra Modi is a landmark event that underscores the deep cultural and diplomatic ties between India and the UAE. This temple not only serves as a place of worship but also as a symbol of the harmonious blend of tradition and modernity. Akshay Kumar's presence at such a pivotal moment highlights the cultural bridge cinema can offer between nations, further enriching this historic occasion.
