Akshay Kumar To Star In Action Film By Pathaan Director Amid Box Office Challenges

Akshay Kumar New Action Film Updates: Akshay Kumar seems to be on a roll, signing multiple films back-to-back. His latest release, "Khel Khel Mein," is not performing well at the box office. This film marked his return to comedy. Despite its poor performance, rumours suggest Akshay has teamed up with the director of "Pathaan" for a big-budget project. Here are the details.

"Khel Khel Mein," featuring Akshay Kumar alongside Taapsee Pannu, Vaani Kapoor, Ammy Virk, Fardeen Khan, Aditya Seal, and Pragya Jaiswal, was released on Independence Day 2024. It clashed with "Stree 2" and "Vedaa." Both "Khel Khel Mein" and "Vedaa" have struggled to attract audiences due to the overwhelming success of "Stree 2."

According to Sacnilk, "Khel Khel Mein," which reportedly had a budget exceeding Rs 200 crore, has only managed to earn Rs 17.25 crore in six days.

Amid the box office struggle of "Khel Khel Mein," reports indicate that Akshay has joined forces with Siddharth Anand for an upcoming production venture. As per Pinkvilla, Akshay and Siddharth are collaborating on a high-budget action film directed by Milan Luthria.

"Siddharth has got together the director-writer duo of Milan Luthria and Rajat Arora to develop an action film set against the zone of a vigilante film. When the script was locked, the trio unanimously felt that Akshay Kumar is the best fit for the film and on hearing the script, Akshay also felt that this is the right film for him to associate with at this point of time," a source informed the portal.

"Akshay loves the action space and is always up for challenges. The Milan Luthria directorial will see him in a never seen before avatar that does justice to the legacy created by him in action. Sid and Mamta are excited for this new collaboration with the Khiladi," the source concluded.

On his work front, Akshay Kumar will next appear in 'Sky Force.' He also has several other projects lined up including 'Jolly LLB 2,' 'Singham Again,' 'Housefull 5,' 'Hera Pheri 3,' 'Welcome To The Jungle,' and a biopic on C Sankaran Nair.
