Sarfira Box Office Collection Day 3: Akshay Kumar's Film Surpasses ₹10Cr Mark
Sarfira Box Office Collection Day 3: Akshay Kumar returns with Sarfira after his success in Bade Miyan Chote Miyan earlier this year. The film, featuring Radhika Madan, Paresh Rawal, and Seema Biswas, is a Bollywood adaptation of the Tamil movie Sorarai Pottru. Both films are based on G. R. Gopinath's memoir Simply Fly: A Deccan Odyssey, which tells the story of a man aiming to create affordable airlines for low-income people despite facing numerous obstacles.
Akshay Kumar and Radhika Madan's first collaboration in Sarfira has generated significant interest due to their on-screen chemistry. Despite the buzz, the movie received mixed reviews and had a slow start at the box office. On its opening day, Sarfira collected Rs 2.5 crores, marking the second-highest opening for Radhika Madan after Angrezi Medium.

Facing strong competition from Prabhas and Deepika Padukone's Kalki 2898 AD, Sarfira saw an increase in collections over its opening weekend. According to Sacnilk, the film earned Rs 4.25 crores on its first Saturday (day 2) and Rs 5.1 crores on its first Sunday (day 3), bringing its total earnings to Rs 11.85 crores. The coming days will reveal how Sarfira performs amid ongoing competition.
Akshay Kumar expressed his gratitude for being part of Sarfira, stating, "This is my 150th film and it is my best film. I am very thankful to Sudha for giving me this film and the opportunity to be in it." He also praised Radhika Madan's performance: "This is the best performance I have ever seen. I don't know what you all think about her. She is not Maharashtrian, but she has acted like one. She is very well-spoken. Her language was very good and she has gone through whole classes to learn how to speak Marathi and what to say. That is what she has done."
The initial response to Sarfira highlights both its strengths and challenges at the box office. While Akshay Kumar's star power and Radhika Madan's performance have been noted positively, the film's overall reception remains mixed among audiences.
Sarfira’s storyline focuses on making air travel affordable for low-income individuals, inspired by real-life events from Gopinath’s memoir. This unique plot adds depth to the film but also sets high expectations among viewers familiar with the original Tamil version.
The future box office performance of Sarfira will depend largely on word-of-mouth reviews and its ability to attract audiences despite stiff competition from other major releases like Kalki 2898 AD.
As Sarfira continues its run in theatres, industry watchers are keenly observing whether it can maintain or improve its box office numbers in the face of ongoing competition.
