Akshay Kumar Shares Insights On Recent Flops And His Optimistic Outlook
Akshay Kumar On Flops: Bollywood star Akshay Kumar, despite recent setbacks, remains dedicated to his craft. He is hopeful that his perseverance and hard work will eventually lead him to box office success. Akshay has faced a challenging period with several of his recent films underperforming.
Akshay's latest release, "Sarfira," a remake of the Tamil film "Soorarai Pottru," has performed well at the box office. The original film earned actor Suriya a National Film Award for Best Actor. Despite an estimated budget of Rs 100 crore, "Sarfira" has only managed to collect Rs 21.5 crore domestically after 12 days in theatres, according to industry tracker Sacnilk.

In an interview with Forbes India, Akshay reflected on his recent streak of flops and the lessons he has learned from failure. He said, "Behind every film there is a lot of blood, sweat, and passion that goes in. It is heart-breaking to see any film fail. But you have to learn to see the silver lining. Every failure teaches you the value of success and increases the hunger for it even further."
Akshay attributes much of his success to his discipline and work ethic. He stresses the importance of maintaining a timetable and staying fit both mentally and physically.
The 56-year-old actor also discussed how the pandemic has altered the film industry dynamics. He noted that audiences have become more selective about their cinema outings post-Covid.
"The pandemic has undoubtedly changed the dynamics of the film industry," Akshay remarked. "With audiences being more selective about their cinema outings, it has become crucial to choose projects that offer something completely entertaining and unique."
He continued, "I've become more mindful of the content, ensuring that it resonates with the current times and provides an experience that justifies a trip to the theatre. It's about finding stories that not only entertain but also connect deeply with the audience."
Overcoming Obstacles
When asked about his biggest obstacle in becoming a superstar, Akshay shared insights into his journey from a humble background. He said breaking into Bollywood seemed like a distant dream due to its competitive nature.
"I believe it was the mindset of limitation," he explained. "Coming from a humble background, the idea of making films in Bollywood seemed like a distant dream to me." He emphasized that resilience, hard work, and some luck are essential for success in this industry.
"But I was stubborn and adamant," he added. "So I took a leap, trusted my instinct, and stayed focused on my goals. That persistence has been crucial in shaping my journey."
Despite these challenges, Akshay Kumar remains committed to his craft with optimism for future successes at the box office.
