Khel Khel Mein Box Office Collection Falters As Stree 2 Dominates Weekend
Akshay Kumar's film, Khel Khel Mein, directed by Mudassar Aziz, has faced a challenging start at the box office. Despite being a highly anticipated release featuring stars like Taapsee Pannu, Vaani Kapoor, Ammy Virk, and Fardeen Khan, it has struggled to make a significant impact. This marks Akshay's third release of 2024 after Bade Miyan Chote Miyan and Sarfira.
The movie opened with Rs 5.05 crores but saw a sharp decline of nearly 60% on its second day. Competing against Rajkummar Rao's Stree 2, it tried to gain momentum over the weekend but faced stiff competition. The film earned Rs 3.1 crores on its first Saturday and Rs 3.75 crores on its first Sunday, bringing the total to Rs 13.95 crores.

Despite these efforts, Khel Khel Mein couldn't surpass the Rs 15 crores mark in its opening weekend. This performance is notably lower than Akshay's previous release, Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, which earned around Rs 9.5 crores on its first Sunday alone.
Stree 2 has significantly outperformed Khel Khel Mein, amassing over Rs 190 crores during its opening weekend. This stark contrast highlights the tough competition Akshay's film faced at the box office.
Addressing the clash with John's Vedaa, Akshay remarked, "Clashes at the box office keep happening. It's not a big deal at all. It's just a clash and not a slash." His statement reflects a pragmatic view of the competitive nature of film releases.
As fans await another blockbuster from Akshay Kumar, it remains to be seen how Khel Khel Mein will fare in the coming weeks amidst fierce competition and mixed reviews.
