Akshay Kumar's 'Khel Khel Mein' Faces Slow Start In Advance Bookings

Khel Khel Mein Advance Booking Report Day 1: Akshay Kumar is set to release his third film of the year, Khel Khel Mein, following Bade Miyan Chote Miyan and Sarfira. The audience is eagerly awaiting this multi-starrer project featuring Akshay, Taapsee Pannu, Ammy Virk, Vaani Kapoor, and Fardeen Khan. Directed by Mudassar Aziz, this comedy film is an official remake of the 2016 Italian movie Perfect Strangers and will hit theatres on August 15.

The film marks Akshay's fourth collaboration with Taapsee after Baby, Naam Shabana, and Mission Mangal. It is also his second project with Vaani Kapoor after Bell Bottom. Despite generating significant buzz with its trailer and songs, Khel Khel Mein has experienced a slow start in advance bookings.

'Khel Khel Mein' Slow Booking Start

According to Sacnilk, the film sold only 2056 tickets within the first 24 hours of advance booking, earning Rs 8.81 lakhs. This release coincides with Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor's Stree 2 and John Abraham and Sharvari's Vedaa, both also debuting on August 15. It remains to be seen if Khel Khel Mein can compete effectively at the box office against these films.

Meanwhile, Bollywood Hungama reports that the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has given Khel Khel Mein a U/A rating but required the removal of two cuss words. The film has a runtime of 134 minutes and 7 seconds.

Given the substantial buzz around the film due to its impressive promotional content, the makers initiated advance bookings well ahead of its release date. However, despite this anticipation, initial ticket sales have been underwhelming.

The competition from other major releases on the same day adds another layer of challenge for Khel Khel Mein at the box office. Fans are keen to see how it performs against Stree 2 and Vedaa.

This multi-starrer project has drawn attention not only for its star-studded cast but also for being a remake of a popular Italian film. The collaboration between Akshay Kumar and Taapsee Pannu once again brings excitement among their fans.

The CBFC's decision to grant a U/A rating while mandating edits reflects their effort to make the film suitable for a broader audience. The runtime ensures that viewers get a substantial dose of entertainment without overstaying its welcome.

As the release date approaches, all eyes are on how Khel Khel Mein will fare in terms of box office collections amidst stiff competition from other big releases.
