Ajay Devgn And Tabu Strive To Elevate Neeraj Pandey's Slow-Paced Drama

Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha Review: The much-anticipated film, Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha, directed by Neeraj Pandey and starring Ajay Devgn and Tabu, has finally been released after a month's delay. Fans were eager to see this collaboration. But does the film live up to the expectations? Let's delve into our review to find out.

The movie opens with Krishna promising that no one will come between him and Vasudha. The scene then shifts to a jail where Krishna is serving a 25-year sentence for double murder. Due to his good behaviour, he is set for early release by two years. However, Krishna prefers to stay in jail to avoid disrupting Vasudha's married life.

Devgn & Tabu in Slow Drama

The performances in the film are commendable. Saiee Manjrekar fits her role perfectly, delivering emotions convincingly. Shantanu Maheshwari portrays the younger Krishna well. Ajay Devgn maintains a single expression throughout but excels in dialogue delivery. Tabu shines with her performance, while Jimmy Shergill adds some spice despite limited screen time.

The narrative attempts to elevate Vasudha and Krishna's love story to the legendary status of Laila-Majnu or Heer-Ranjha. Krishna's unconditional love for Vasudha is central, even willing to sacrifice himself for her. Despite this intense theme, the film progresses slowly and becomes monotonous after a while. Although Krishna's friend provides some humour, it is limited to just a few scenes.

Fans of Ajay Devgn and Tabu's on-screen chemistry might enjoy this film. However, those expecting a compelling story may be disappointed. If you have free time and enjoy watching movies in theatres, you might consider giving it a try; otherwise, it might be best skipped.

Neeraj Pandey is renowned for films like Special 26, Baby, and A Wednesday. This time, he ventures into pure romance with less success. His attempt at something different lacks the usual spice and suspense that mark his previous works.

A pivotal scene in the movie significantly impacts Krishna and Vasudha's lives. Unfortunately, this scene is repeated four times, leading to viewer fatigue.

The film has several loopholes that make one wonder if their love story could have had a happier ending with better storytelling choices.
