Shaitaan Predicted To Have A Strong Box Office Opening, Says Film Expert
Ajay Devgn is gearing up for a busy year with multiple film releases, kicking off with "Shaitaan," scheduled for release on 8th March 2024. This film, co-starring R Madhavan and Jyotika, is a remake of the Gujarati hit "Vash," which made waves last year. Despite minimal promotions, the trailer of "Shaitaan" has managed to create significant pre-release excitement among audiences.
In a recent interaction with Filmibeat, producer and film business analyst Girish Johar expressed his enthusiasm for the film's prospects. According to Johar, the film's genre and the stellar cast, including Ajay Devgn and Madhavan, have contributed to a strong buzz, promising a solid opening at the box office. He highlighted the exceptional response to the trailer as a key factor driving this anticipation.

While remakes have had a mixed track record in recent times, Johar remains optimistic about "Shaitaan's" potential. He referenced the success of "Drishyam 2," another Ajay Devgn-led remake that performed well at the box office in 2022. Johar believes that the quality of the film itself will attract viewers, regardless of its origins as a Gujarati movie. He pointed out that the difference in audience demographics between Gujarati cinema and the pan-India market means that there's ample opportunity for "Shaitaan" to succeed.
Girish Johar shared his predictions for "Shaitaan's" opening day collections, expressing hope for an initial figure in the range of Rs. 8-10 crore. However, he also acknowledged the unpredictable nature of box office performance, noting that numbers could dip to Rs. 5-6 crore if the film fails to meet expectations. Nonetheless, an opening around Rs. 8 crore would be considered a positive start.
The film is directed by Vikas Bahl and marks a significant moment for Jyotika, who returns to Hindi cinema after a 23-year hiatus. With its intriguing premise and strong cast, "Shaitaan" is poised to make an impact upon its release next year.
