Maidaan Box Office Day 4: Ajay Devgn's Film Set To Surpass 20Cr, Challenges Shaitaan
Ajay Devgn's latest cinematic venture, Maidaan, has been the talk of the town since its release, captivating audiences and critics alike with its compelling narrative and stellar performances. Directed by Amit Sharma, this sports biopic shines a spotlight on Syed Abdul Rahim, the legendary football coach who played a pivotal role in elevating Indian football to new heights during 1952-1962. Alongside Devgn, the film features notable performances from Gajraj Rao and Priyamani.
The film's portrayal of a golden era in Indian football has not only garnered critical acclaim but has also sparked considerable interest among moviegoers, thanks to Ajay Devgn's powerful depiction of Rahim. Despite this, Maidaan experienced a modest opening day, collecting Rs 7.10 crores, which included earnings from paid previews. The subsequent day saw a dip in collections, but the movie bounced back impressively on its third day (first Saturday), witnessing an 83% surge and raking in Rs 5.5 crores. This rebound brought the total box office collection to Rs 15.6 crores.

As Maidaan progresses into its fourth day (first Sunday), expectations are high for another increase in box office numbers, with projections estimating earnings between Rs 5-7 crores. This anticipated uptick could potentially push the film's first-weekend collection close to the Rs 20 crore mark. Comparatively, Devgn's earlier release Shaitaan had amassed Rs 7.25 crores on its fourth day, setting a competitive benchmark for Maidaan.
In addition to its box office journey, Maidaan finds itself in a direct competition with Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, starring Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff. Directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, the action-packed entertainer outperformed Maidaan on their shared opening day. Ajay Devgn commented on this box office battle, stating he does not view it as a clash but acknowledges the challenges of releasing two major films simultaneously due to certain obligations.
The ongoing performance of Maidaan at the box office and its face-off with Bade Miyan Chote Miyan remains a focal point of interest for both fans and industry insiders. As these films vie for audience attention, it underscores the dynamic nature of film releases and the unpredictable outcomes of box office clashes.
