Maidaan's Advance Booking Crosses £27 Lakhs On Day 1 Ahead Of Eid Release
Following the success of Shaitaan, Bollywood star Ajay Devgn is all set to captivate audiences with his upcoming biographical sports drama, Maidaan. Directed by Amit Ravindernath Sharma, known for his work on Badhaai Ho, the film's release has been rescheduled to 11th April 2024, aligning with Eid celebrations. Initially slated for a 10th April release, Maidaan shines a spotlight on the life of football legend Syed Abdul Rahim. The anticipation surrounding the film is palpable, as evidenced by the impressive advance booking figures.
The eagerly awaited Maidaan represents Ajay Devgn's second venture of the year, following the supernatural thriller Shaitaan. The sports drama, which has been in production for nearly five years and faced several delays, is finally poised for its theatrical debut on Thursday, 11th April. Notably, the film will also be available in IMAX format, offering audiences an immersive viewing experience.

Industry tracker Sacnilk has revealed that Maidaan is expected to host over 2,700 shows across India on its opening day. According to the report, Ajay Devgn's latest project has already sold 12,766 tickets (excluding block seats), generating approximately Rs 27.38 lakhs in advance bookings. With block seats included, the film's opening day earnings are projected to reach around Rs 82.72 lakhs.
Under the production banner of Boney Kapoor, Zee Studios, Arunava Joy Sengupta & Akash Chawla, Maidaan has received approval from the Central Board of Film Certification without any cuts. The film boasts a runtime of 3 hours and 1 minute and features Gajraj Rao and Priyamani in significant roles.
Ajay Devgn's portrayal in Maidaan is set against the backdrop of a box office showdown with Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff's much-anticipated masala entertainer Bade Miyan Chote Miyan. Directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, BMCM also stars Prithviraj Sukumaran, Sonakshi Sinha, Manushi Chhillar, and Alaya F.
