Maidaan Advance Booking Hits Rs 16.1 Lakhs: Ajay Devgn's Film Gears Up For Big Release
Following the tremendous success of Shaitaan, Bollywood star Ajay Devgn is poised to dazzle audiences with his latest venture, Maidaan. Under the direction of Amit Ravindernath Sharma, celebrated for his work on Badhaai Ho, Devgn steps into the shoes of Syed Abdul Rahim, a figure synonymous with the golden era of Indian football. The advance booking for this eagerly awaited biographical sports drama has commenced, showing a promising start in ticket sales.
The initial phase of advance bookings for Maidaan has kicked off on various online ticket booking platforms, offering a limited number of shows. Reports from Sacnilk indicate a robust beginning, with over 7,700 tickets already sold for the film's opening day, generating revenue of Rs 16.15 lakhs. When considering block seat bookings, the total earnings for Maidaan on its debut day, Wednesday, 10th April, are estimated to be around Rs 50.73 lakhs.

The journey to bring Maidaan to the big screen has spanned nearly five years, overcoming numerous challenges along the way. Now, with an Eid 2024 release date set, Ajay Devgn's portrayal of a football coaching legend is ready to grace cinemas on 10th April 2024. The film also features Gajraj Rao and Priyamani in significant roles.
In discussing the film, Ajay Devgn shared his insights, stating, "After 1983's cricket world cup victory, football seemed to fade into obscurity in India. I was astonished by this shift. With Amita Sharma's thorough research and direction, we've not just created a sports film but a drama filled with layers of emotion. It's been a while since I've enjoyed working on a project as much as I did with Maidaan."
The release of Maidaan will see it going head-to-head at the box office with Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff's high-budget action entertainer Bade Miyan Chote Miyan. This clash is one of the most anticipated in Bollywood, raising questions about which film will emerge victorious in terms of opening day sales.
As the release date approaches, anticipation builds for this cinematic tribute to a forgotten hero of Indian sports history. With its compelling narrative and star-studded cast, Maidaan promises to be an engaging watch for fans of both sports and cinema alike.
