Ahsaas Channa Opens Up About Auditioning For Laapataa Ladies, Dreams Of Big Screen

Ahsaas Channa, a prominent figure in the OTT space, began her career as a child actor. She starred in notable films like My Friend Ganesh, Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna, and Phoonk. Recently, she appeared in Kota Factory season 3 and received acclaim for her performance.

In a recent interaction with Filmibeat, Ahsaas shared her aspirations of transitioning to the big screen. When asked about filmmakers she wishes to collaborate with, she expressed her admiration for Imtiaz Ali and Zoya Akhtar. "It is my dream to work with Imtiaz Ali, I love Jab We Met; I have watched all his films. I have watched all Zoya Akhtar films," she said.

Ahsaas also disclosed that she auditioned for Laapataa Ladies. "I had recently watched Laapataa Ladies and I had auditioned for it as well. I had met Kiran Rao and Aamir Khan, auditioned with them. I was in the top 2, but that didn't happen. However, the film is incredible. The girl, who plays Jaya, I had auditioned for that character," she revealed.

The actress expressed her desire to work with Kiran Rao again after almost securing a role in Laapataa Ladies. "Pratibha has done a great job. So, I really want to work with Kiran Rao. I was almost going to work with her, so I really wish that I get a chance to work with her," Ahsaas mentioned.

She also highlighted other directors she admires: "And many more directors! I want to work with Chaitanya Tamhane, He is the director of Court and The Disciple. He is an incredible director. There's a list and it is never ending," she added.

Looking ahead, Ahsaas will feature in Mismatched season 3 and is currently filming Half CA. Fans are eagerly anticipating her role in Mismatched 3 since she only made a cameo appearance in season 2. It remains one of the most awaited series this year.
