70th National Film Awards 2024: Rishab Shetty Wins Best Actor, Nithya Menon Shares Best Actress Title

The 70th National Film Awards, initially planned for 2023 but postponed due to the pandemic, are set to occur on October 8 at Vigyan Bhavan in New Delhi. This esteemed event will celebrate outstanding achievements in Indian cinema for films certified between January 1 and December 31, 2022.

Winners were announced on August 16, with Nithya Menon, Manasi Parekh, and Rishab Shetty receiving top honours. The ceremony begins at 3 PM and will be live-streamed on YouTube via the DD News Channel. Attendees will walk the red carpet before receiving their awards.

Sooraj Barjatya has been acknowledged as Best Director for Unnchai. Neena Gupta will be celebrated as Best Supporting Actress. Additionally, Gulmohar has been named Best Hindi Film, with Manoj Bajpayee receiving a special mention for his role in the same film.

A controversy has arisen involving choreographer Jani Master. Initially slated to receive an award for his work in Thiruchitrambalam, he has been suspended due to ongoing rape allegations.
