70th National Film Awards Scheduled For October 8, 2024, In New Delhi

The 70th National Film Awards, a significant event in Indian cinema, is set for October 8, 2024. Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi will host the ceremony. The President of India, Droupadi Murmu, alongside Honourable Minister of Information and Broadcast Ashwini Vaishnaw, will present the awards to the deserving winners.

This year's awards celebrate films from 2022, continuing a tradition of honouring excellence in various cinematic categories. Among the standout winners are Aattam (Malayalam) for Best Feature Film and Ayena (Mirror) (Hindi) for Best Non-Feature Film.

Rishab Shetty has been awarded Best Actor for his performance in Kantara. Nithya Menen received the Best Actress award for her role in Thiruchitrambalam. In supporting roles, Pavan Raj Malhotra was honoured as Best Supporting Actor for Fouja, while Neena Gupta won Best Supporting Actress for Uunchai.

BRAHMASTRA-PART 1: SHIVA will be recognised with the Best Film award in the Animation, Visual Effects, Gaming, and Comics (AVGC) category. This film is celebrated for its exceptional visual effects. Additionally, Kishore Kumar: The Ultimate Biography by Anirudha Bhattacharjee and Parthiv Dhar received the award for Best Book on Cinema, providing an insightful exploration of one of India's legendary performers.

The upcoming ceremony promises to be a memorable evening that highlights the finest talent and creativity within Indian cinema.
