Elena Rybakina Secures Victory Over Elise Mertens, Moves Into French Open Round Four

Elena Rybakina has advanced to the second week of the French Open after securing another straight-sets victory over Elise Mertens. The fourth seed clinched a 6-4, 6-2 win in just 67 minutes on Court Philippe-Chatrier, setting up a last-16 encounter with either Elina Svitolina or Ana Bogdan.

Rybakina's performance marks a significant comeback, as she was forced to withdraw due to injury before her third-round match against Sara Sorribes Tormo at Roland-Garros last year. Elena Rybakina has now become only the third player to reach multiple Grand Slam fourth rounds on both clay and grass courts since the start of the 2020 season.
