Nadal Teams Up With Ruud For Winning Return At Nordea Open
Rafael Nadal made a successful return to the court since May, partnering with Casper Ruud to defeat second seeds Guido Andreozzi and Miguel Reyes-Varela in the Nordea Open doubles at Bastad. This marked Nadal's first appearance on Swedish clay since he won the singles title as a teenager in 2005.
The Spaniard, who was ousted by Alexander Zverev in the first round of the French Open in May, opted out of Wimbledon to focus on his preparation for the Paris Olympics. In Bastad, Nadal appeared comfortable alongside world number nine Ruud. The duo secured a 6-1, 6-4 victory in just 70 minutes.

Nadal showcased his skill with a remarkable forehand winner early in the second set. Speaking after the match, he expressed his satisfaction: "It's a pleasure playing with a good friend and an amazing player like Casper here in Bastad."
Nadal reflected on his past experiences at Bastad: "Personally, I am happy and I think it was a good match. We played quite well for the first time we played together and I'm happy to be back here after almost 20 years. I have great memories from this place from 2003, 2004 and 2005, so I am enjoying this week and hopefully I can keep going."
Looking ahead, Nadal is set to begin his singles campaign at the ATP 250 event on Tuesday. His first opponent will be local favourite Leo Borg.
The Nordea Open has provided Nadal with an opportunity to regain form and confidence as he prepares for future competitions. His performance alongside Ruud indicates that he is ready to compete at a high level once again.
Fans are eager to see how Nadal will fare in his upcoming matches, especially given his history of success on clay courts. The tournament promises exciting tennis action as players vie for the title.
With Nadal's return generating significant interest, the Nordea Open is poised to be a highlight of the tennis calendar this year.
