Five-Year Deal: Qatar's BeIN Renews Exclusive Broadcasting Rights For Australian Open For MENA Viewership

Qatari state-owned global sports, entertainment, and media group, beIN MEDIA GROUP ('beIN’), has successfully renewed its exclusive rights to broadcast the Australian Open in 24 countries throughout the Middle East and North Africa (MENA).

This renewal secures beIN SPORTS as the premier tennis broadcasting network in the region until 2029. The partnership, which initially began with a seven-year agreement in 2018, will now extend beyond the 2025 tournament scheduled from 12-26 January.

Viewers in MENA will benefit from uninterrupted access to the season's first Grand Slam, thanks to beIN SPORTS. The network's coverage encompasses not only the main event but also the lead-in events and qualifying rounds managed by Tennis Australia. The latest agreement promises an expansion in access to all 15 match courts and introduces 4K broadcasts from the celebrated Rod Laver Arena, enhancing the viewing experience significantly.

The Australian Open, organized annually by Tennis Australia at Melbourne Park in Victoria, stands out as the most-attended Grand Slam event, including the qualifying rounds. It attracted over 1.1 million spectators in its 2024 edition.

This event's popularity underscores the significance of beIN SPORTS' continued rights to broadcast, providing fans with unparalleled access to tennis's grandest stages. Moreover, beIN SPORTS has established itself as a home for tennis aficionados in MENA, offering comprehensive coverage of not only the Australian Open but also the other three Grand Slam tournaments — Roland Garros, Wimbledon, and the US Open at Flushing Meadows, in addition to ATP events.

Mohammad Al-Subaie, CEO of beIN MENA, said, "We are delighted to extend our partnership with the Australian Open to 2029. beIN's coverage of the Southern Hemisphere's only Grand Slam dates back to 2005 and this milestone reflects our ongoing commitment to bringing our viewers the best of international tennis. We look forward to delivering five more years of high-stakes competition, incredible performances, and unforgettable moments from the sport's top-ranked players, ensuring our subscribers enjoy the very best of this iconic tournament," he said.

Cedric Cornelis, Tennis Australia's Chief Commercial Officer, added, "We are delighted to extend our partnership with beIN, a long-term valued broadcast partner of the Australian Open. This extension means the Australian Open will continue to find new audiences globally and that beIN subscribers can enjoy watching tennis in its most exciting form."
