OPIF: India's CSR Future Just Got a Massive Upgrade!

India’s CSR landscape is set for a significant milestone, with total spending projected to hit ₹5.50 lakh crore by 2030. Marking this evolution, CSRBOX is transforming its 12-year-old flagship event into the One Purpos India Forum (OPIF). Scheduled for October 2026 in New Delhi, OPIF 2026 will unite government officials, corporate leaders, philanthropists, and sustainability experts to foster collaboration and drive development. From an annual spend of roughly ₹10,065 crore in FY 2014–15, CSR funding is on track to exceed ₹77,000 crore annually by 2030. As these resources grow, aligning development goals with institutional capacity is vital to ensure capital creates lasting impact across all regions.

In light of this, CSRBOX is rebranding the India CSR & ESG Summit as the One Purpos India Forum (OPIF), leveraging over a decade of experience in the sustainability sector. The 13th edition is set for 26–28 October 2026 at Hotel Pullman, New Delhi, gathering stakeholders from government, corporate CSR, philanthropy, technology, and civil society to discuss collaborative strategies for India’s development.

OPIF: India's CSR Future Gets a Massive Upgrade

Since its 2014 launch, the Forum has grown alongside India’s CSR sector, serving as a hub for organizations, NGOs, and government bodies to share knowledge and build partnerships. The 2015 launch of the India CSR Outlook Report further cemented its importance by offering data on spending, sectoral focus, and regional distribution. Over time, the platform has expanded to include capacity-building for non-profits, funder-implementer matchmaking, and discussions on tech-driven solutions.

The shift to OPIF addresses the changing needs of India’s development landscape, where solving complex social and environmental issues requires better coordination between funding sources and implementation networks. While CSR remains a key financing pillar, other resources—such as family offices, philanthropic foundations, District Mineral Foundation (DMF) funds, and impact investors—are increasingly significant. Enhanced collaboration among these groups, supported by government facilitation, can help identify gaps and improve resource allocation to meet local needs.

OPIF 2026 aims to advance this through a broader Purpose Economy framework, linking organizations that drive social, environmental, and economic progress. The strategy focuses on facilitation rather than prescription, acknowledging that companies need the autonomy to set CSR priorities based on their specific expertise and regulatory obligations. Public institutions can support this by sharing development data and removing barriers to effective partnership.

The 2026 edition will bring together five established platforms under a unified national forum: the India CSR & ESG Summit, India Water & Rivers Forum, India Philanthropy Forum, Purpose Expo and Doing Good for Bharat Awards. By integrating these sectors, OPIF creates a space for cross-sector dialogue, allowing participants to share implementation experiences and scale successful models across different regions.

The three-day agenda includes government-led roundtables, masterclasses, workshops, and networking sessions. Key topics include urban sustainability with the Government of Telangana; skilling initiatives in Uttar Pradesh; road safety with the National Road Safety Board, Government of India; sports development; CSR in the North East; the role of CSR in the Global Capability Centre (GCC) ecosystem; and sustainability in the food and beverage value chain.

The program also covers ecological restoration, Nature-based Solutions, employee volunteering, and leveraging insights from over 500 impact evaluations to refine development planning. These sessions are designed to provide practitioners and funders with actionable insights, connecting evidence-based research with real-world development needs.

The Forum will host senior government officials, corporate leaders, sustainability professionals, philanthropic foundations, and social enterprises. The focus is on fostering meaningful engagement, helping non-profits connect with funders, enabling companies to find credible partners, and allowing government representatives to align collaborations with public development goals.

Commenting on the evolution of the Forum, Bhomik Shah, Founder and CEO, CSRBOX, said, "The task ahead of us is bigger than any one institution. Building a Viksit Bharat requires us to synergise rather than work in silos, bringing together the strengths of government, corporates, philanthropy, civil society and technology. We need stronger partnerships and practical solutions that respond to development priorities and create lasting value for people and the nation. OPIF is an effort to create a platform where these different capabilities can come together and translate shared intent into collective action."

A major feature of OPIF 2026 is the launch of the India CSR Outlook Report 2026, which will analyze CSR trends, regional spending disparities, and new opportunities for resource deployment. This report continues CSRBOX’s commitment to providing data that informs corporate strategy and strengthens development partnerships.

The move to the One Purpos India Forum represents the next chapter in CSRBOX’s work. By building on its foundation in research, advisory, and implementation, CSRBOX aims to bridge the gap between institutions and the solutions needed for India’s development.

OPIF 2026 offers a national stage for government, business, and civil society to align on priorities and build a more resilient, inclusive India.
