NATIONAL | 23rd October 2026: Havells mYOUsic, a grassroots music project launched by Havells India in partnership with WPP Media and The Shakti Collective, recently convened emerging musicians from across the country for an intensive bootcamp. The programme, hosted at Amity University Rajasthan, Jaipur, from 10 to 18 October, focused on refining 25 original tracks and guiding 40 artists through a comprehensive creative process that moves well beyond simple auditions. With over 3,000 entries and more than 750 auditions, the initiative highlights the immense reservoir of musical talent waiting to be tapped across India.
Driven by the conviction that empowerment should reach beyond homes and businesses into the heart of culture and community, mYOUsic was designed to bridge a significant gap in the music industry. Many gifted artists struggle to find the necessary platforms, professional guidance, and industry connections required to polish their original work and establish long-term careers. By processing over 3,000 entries and conducting more than 750 auditions, the initiative has successfully guided grassroots musical voices into a structured environment dedicated to discovery and professional growth. During the 10 to 18 October bootcamp, 40 artists collaborated on 25 original tracks, navigating the full spectrum of music creation—from audio production and recording to video development and live performance training. The programme integrated various creative workstreams, allowing artists to refine their sound, produce music videos and visual assets, engage in interviews, and prepare their compositions for the stage. This collaborative effort resulted in a body of work that far exceeds the scope of a typical audition process. Beyond the technical aspects of music and video production, the bootcamp provided knowledge-sharing sessions with industry experts, live performance rehearsals, and collaborative jam sessions, alongside activities centered on personal wellbeing and growth. These interactions offered artists a valuable space to exchange ideas, experiment with new creative directions, and gain a clearer perspective on the professional music landscape. The bootcamp also featured insights from singer-songwriter Faheem Abdullah, best known for the title track of Saiyaara, and music director Sadhu Tiwari, recognized for his work on Hanuman. Their involvement provided emerging artists with direct access to professionals actively shaping India’s music and entertainment sectors. This initiative was made possible through the combined efforts of the Havells team, WPP Media, Tarsame Mittal, Rohith Sobti, Dimple R Mehta, as well as the mentors, production and audio-video crews, volunteers, and the entire team at The Shakti Collective who worked to bring the project to fruition. Mukesh Kumar Jain, Vice President, Marketing, Havells India, said: "Havells has always been a brand that celebrates the spirit of India, empowering progress in homes, businesses, and communities. With Havells mYOUsic, we are extending this philosophy into the cultural fabric of the nation. There is immense talent in the country which only needs the right platform to discover, curate, release their original work and gain exposure, fandom and monetization. This movement is about giving India’s hidden musical voices a platform to grow, to be heard, and to be celebrated. At Havells, we believe empowerment goes beyond electricity, it is about lighting up aspirations." Vinit Karnik, Managing Director ESP, WPP MEDIA said: "Havells mYOUsic demonstrates the power of culture-led initiatives. Our role has been to bring vision, talent, and execution together to enable this platform. The collaboration between Havells, WPP, The Shakti Collective and all partners has helped build a structured ecosystem that supports discovery, curation and long-term development of emerging artists across India." Rohith Sobti, Curator and Co-Founder of The Shakti Collective, said: "This initiative is rooted in the belief that India’s grassroots talent needs more than visibility, it needs structure, mentorship and understanding of the music ecosystem. Havells mYOUsic is not just about discovery, it is about building a 360-degree journey for artists where they are guided from expression to professional readiness. What we are building is a sustainable ecosystem where artists are respected, nurtured and given real opportunities to grow beyond a single performance." As the artist bootcamp concludes this significant chapter, the journey for these 25 original tracks is just beginning. With their music, videos, and live performances now refined through this collaborative process, these artists are prepared to present their work to a broader audience. The original songs produced via Havells mYOUsic will be released soon, sharing the unique voices and stories of emerging talent from across India with listeners everywhere. Through Havells mYOUsic, Havells India, WPP Media, and The Shakti Collective have reaffirmed their dedication to establishing a lasting platform for grassroots talent—one that transcends simple discovery to provide artists with genuine opportunities to create, evolve, and find their audience. "Havells mYOUsic began with a belief - that talent should never remain hidden simply because opportunity is out of reach."
