Zayed University To Offer 11 New Bachelor's Programmes This Fall

Zayed University (ZU) is set to significantly broaden its academic horizons with the introduction of 11 new bachelor's programmes this coming Fall, aligning its educational offerings with the UAE's national agenda. This expansion, which marks a significant step for the institution, will see the programmes commence at the start of the next academic year, covering a diverse array of disciplines. The move is indicative of ZU's commitment to enhancing its academic portfolio in sectors deemed priority at the national level.

The newly introduced bachelor's programmes will be available across six colleges within the university: the College of Business, College of Communication and Media Studies, College of Humanities and Social Studies, College of Natural and Health Sciences, College of Technological Innovation, and College of Arts and Creative Enterprises. This development is a testament to ZU’s dedication to offering comprehensive educational opportunities that not only align with national priorities but also cater to the changing needs of both students and industries.

ZU Adds 11 New Programmes

Shamma Al Mazrui, Chairperson of the Board of Trustees at Zayed University, emphasized the importance of providing students with degree options that align with their career aspirations while ensuring they are fully prepared for a competitive job market. "As a federal university, it is essential that we provide students the opportunity to choose degrees that best suit them and align with their career aspiration, while ensuring their full readiness for a highly competitive job market," Al Mazrui stated. She further highlighted education as a pivotal gateway for students to explore their passions, discover new interests, and ultimately contribute positively to the UAE and beyond.

The announcement also highlighted that these programmes are now open for enrollment through the National Admissions & Placement Office (NAPO) system for students aiming to join at the start of the next academic year. These degree programmes will complement ZU’s innovative interdisciplinary curriculum introduced in 2021.

Acting Vice President of Zayed University, Professor Michael Allen, shared his enthusiasm about this development. "This is an exciting time for Zayed University and we look forward to cementing our role as the place where young Emiratis come and do their thinking and learning," said Allen. He underscored the balanced approach achieved with the expanded range of programmes alongside unique interdisciplinary degrees, aimed at meeting both student needs and job market demands.

This expansion by Zayed University not only reflects its commitment to academic excellence but also its role in supporting the UAE's vision for education that is responsive to global trends and local needs. With these new programmes, ZU continues to position itself as a key player in shaping the future of education in the region.
