UAE Boosts Space Ambitions With DCT Abu Dhabi And MBRSC Partnership
The Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi) and the Mohammed Bin Rashid Space Centre (MBRSC) have entered into a strategic partnership aimed at bolstering the UAE's capabilities in space exploration. This collaboration, marked by a memorandum of understanding (MoU), focuses on enhancing educational programmes, raising public awareness, and facilitating knowledge exchange in the field of space exploration.
The agreement was formalised at the Louvre Abu Dhabi in the presence of notable figures including Dr. Sultan Saif Al Neyadi, UAE Minister of State for Youth Affairs and astronaut; Saeed Ali Obaid Al Fazari, Executive Director of Strategic Affairs at DCT Abu Dhabi; and astronaut Hazza Al Mansouri. The MoU was signed by Saood Al Hosani, Undersecretary of DCT Abu Dhabi and Salem Humaid Al Marri, Director General of MBRSC.
Enhancing Space Sector Ambitions Through Education and Collaboration
Saood Al Hosani, Undersecretary of DCT Abu Dhabi, highlighted the MoU's significance in honouring the legacy of the UAE's Founding Father, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. By promoting strategic community outreach rooted in education and collaboration, the partnership aims to advance Abu Dhabi's space sector ambitions.
Salem Humaid Al Marri, Director General at MBRSC, also underscored the MoU as a testament to the shared vision of harnessing space exploration for educational, technological, and cultural advancement. The partnership is envisioned to inspire a new generation of explorers and scientists by showcasing the rich legacy and future possibilities of space exploration, thereby nurturing talent and promoting sustainable growth in the UAE's space sector.
