Over 12,300 Bahrainis Land Jobs Thanks To Tamkeen's Initiatives In Last Year

Last year, Bahrain's Labour Fund (Tamkeen) made significant strides in bolstering the national workforce and supporting local enterprises, as revealed during its second Annual Government Forum for 2024. The forum highlighted Tamkeen's pivotal role in securing employment for over 12,300 Bahraini employees, providing training support to 10,700 individuals, and extending assistance to more than 5,100 businesses. This gathering also served as a crucial platform for discussing collaborative efforts with public sector partners to ensure the effective execution of Tamkeen's strategic plans and objectives.

At the heart of the forum was the presentation of Tamkeen's annual plan, meticulously developed through comprehensive labour market analysis, sector consultations, and the study of successful international practices. Chief Executive Maha Abdulhameed Mofeez underscored the importance of such forums in building partnerships that drive the growth and development of the Bahraini economy. She reiterated Tamkeen's dedication to supporting Bahraini individuals and enterprises through initiatives focused on employment support, career development, and enterprise growth.

Tamkeen has also taken significant steps to improve its internal operations and stakeholder engagement. By integrating key performance indicators and adopting digital solutions, Tamkeen aims to enhance decision-making processes and customer experiences. Regular consultations with private sector stakeholders are conducted to ensure that support programs are aligned with market needs and challenges. Additionally, new monitoring and governance procedures have been implemented to optimize support utilization and prevent misuse.

Aligning with National Strategies

The efforts undertaken by Tamkeen are in harmony with Bahrain's national strategies, including the Economic Recovery Plan and the National Labor Market Plan (2023-2026). These initiatives aim to elevate the economic participation of Bahrainis by creating new employment opportunities, enhancing career development through wage increases and upskilling, supporting private sector growth to boost Bahraini employment, and fostering the development of a robust labor market and private sector ecosystem.

Tamkeen's commitment to continuous engagement with government entities and stakeholders within the labor market was reaffirmed at the forum. This ongoing collaboration is crucial for increasing the impact of Tamkeen's support plans and programs. The organisation's strategic priorities for this year reflect a strong dedication to contributing to Bahrain's socio-economic advancement by addressing market needs and aligning with national priorities.

The achievements shared at Tamkeen's second Annual Government Forum for 2024 underscore the organisation's vital role in supporting Bahrain's labor market and economic development. Through its comprehensive initiatives and strategic collaborations, Tamkeen continues to play a key role in shaping a prosperous future for Bahraini individuals and enterprises alike.
