Sharjah's Ruler Launches Victoria International School In Tilal With Modern Educational Technologies

H.H. Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, inaugurated Victoria International School Sharjah (VISS) in Tilal on Monday. The event was attended by H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah.

Upon arrival, H.H. the Ruler of Sharjah unveiled a memorial plaque and toured the school. He met students from various grades and learned about their integration into the school curricula and teaching methods.

Sheikh Sultan inspected the theatre hall, which is equipped with advanced devices and technologies for educational and recreational events. He also visited the air-conditioned sports hall and reviewed the sports equipment available for students.

The tour concluded with a visit to the primary classes section. Here, Sheikh Sultan observed students engaging with subjects taught using modern, interactive educational technologies that enhance skills and reinforce knowledge.

Victoria International School Sharjah in Tilal is the fifth branch of VISS in Sharjah. It can accommodate 1,000 male and female students and includes an administrative building with offices, meeting rooms, training rooms, first aid rooms, a doctor's room, health facilities, an early learning centre, kindergarten primary education classes, teachers' rooms, an innovation centre, a science, technology and music centre, covered playgrounds, a swimming pool, health facilities, and a multi-purpose hall.

Memorandum of Understanding

Sheikh Sultan signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Australian state of Victoria. Represented by Ambassador Ridwan Jadwat, this MoU aims to enhance cooperation and provide curricula including International Baccalaureate studies for students at Victoria International School in Sharjah.

The MoU stipulates that specialised committees from Victoria will monitor and evaluate teaching methods at VISS branches in Sharjah to ensure adherence to the Australian curriculum. Additionally, training programmes will be provided to develop administrative and teaching staff skills.

Dignitaries Present

The opening ceremony was attended by Sheikh Saud bin Mohammed bin Saud Al Qasimi, CEO of Real Estate Sector at Sharjah Asset Management (SAM); Mohammed Obaid Al Zaabi, Head of Protocol and Hospitality Department; Radwan Jadwat, Ambassador of Australia to the UAE; Ali Ahmed Al Hosani, Director of Sharjah Private Education Authority (SPEA); along with several officials from the education sector and diplomatic corps.

This new branch signifies a significant step towards enhancing educational infrastructure in Sharjah while fostering international cooperation in education.
