Over 100,000 Students Register For Saudi Arabia's National Talent Programme
The Saudi Ministry of Education, in collaboration with the Mawhiba foundation and the Education and Training Evaluation Commission, has unveiled the latest outcomes of its National Talented Identification Programme. Now in its fourteenth year, the initiative has reached a significant milestone by registering approximately 100,000 students. This program is dedicated to discovering and fostering talented youths across the nation.
Basil Al-Sadhan, Mawhiba's deputy secretary-general for gifted services, highlighted the impact of the program by stating, "There are many role models who have graduated from Mawhiba, including university professors, teachers, and students who have been accepted into the most powerful international universities such as Harvard and have established companies in Silicon Valley. The Mawhiba program is still in its infancy and holds a great future." This testament reflects the program's success in nurturing talents that contribute significantly at both national and international levels.
Expanding Horizons For Young Talents
This year marks a remarkable phase for the initiative as over 84,000 selected students are set to engage in comprehensive education programs. Since the inception of the scheme, the total number of participants has surged to more than 215,000. This growing figure underscores the program's commitment to expanding educational and developmental opportunities for the youth of Saudi Arabia.
The selection process for the program is stringent, focusing on a variety of cognitive abilities. Primary and secondary students are evaluated based on their mental flexibility, mathematical and spatial reasoning, scientific and mechanical reasoning, linguistic reasoning, and reading comprehension. This multifaceted testing approach ensures that a wide array of talents are identified, catering to diverse intellectual strengths and interests.
The National Talented Identification Programme stands as a testament to Saudi Arabia's dedication to fostering the intellectual and creative capacities of its youth. By identifying and nurturing gifted students, the initiative not only contributes to the personal development of these young individuals but also to the broader goal of cultivating a knowledge-based society in the Kingdom.
