Sanad And Khalifa University Collaborate To Enhance Local Aviation Talent Pool

Sanad, a leader in aerospace engineering and leasing solutions, has enhanced its collaboration with Khalifa University of Science and Technology, aiming to develop local talent and promote knowledge exchange in the aviation industry. This partnership, which began in 2010, has taken a significant step forward with the establishment of an aviation research and innovation centre. Since 2017, Sanad’s R&D team has worked closely with researchers from Khalifa University to explore advanced technologies vital for the aviation maintenance sector. The agreement, reinforcing this collaboration, was signed by Sir John O’Reilly, President of Khalifa University, and Ebraheem Budebs, Group Head of Human Resources at Sanad, witnessed by Mansoor Janahi, Managing Director and Group CEO of Sanad, and Dr. Arif Al Hammadi, Executive Vice President at Khalifa University.

The partnership focuses on three main pillars to support students' training and development. These include providing local and international training opportunities during holidays with support from Sanad, its partners, and renowned global original engine manufacturers (OEMs). Additionally, Sanad’s technical experts are set to conduct periodic workshops for engineering students at Khalifa University. These workshops aim to expand training opportunities for students pursuing bachelor’s and master’s degrees.

Boosting UAE's Aviation Talent

Mansoor Janahi highlighted the importance of nurturing local talent for the aviation industry's future. He emphasized Sanad’s commitment to developing the UAE’s youth by offering training initiatives designed to refine developmental skills and instill leadership qualities. This effort is aimed at encouraging more students to consider careers in the aerospace sector. "Our strategic partnership with Khalifa University aims to fortify the future of the local talent pool," Janahi stated, reaffirming their commitment to reinforcing Abu Dhabi’s leadership in aviation.

Academic-Industry Synergy

Professor Sir John O’Reilly praised the partnership as a blend of Sanad’s industry leadership with Khalifa University’s research expertise and technical prowess. "This synergistic partnership...underscores the value and importance of integrating academia and industry," he remarked. The collaboration is designed to align scientific advancement with practical application for mutual progress. It also aims to provide students with distinctive learning opportunities and hands-on experience in the aviation sector.

The agreement between Sanad and Khalifa University not only empowers students by combining practical training with academic knowledge but also prepares them for vital roles within the UAE's aviation sector. Through these practical training opportunities at Sanad and knowledge-sharing initiatives with industry experts, students' learning experiences are significantly enhanced. This collaboration contributes to operational advancements and the adoption of advanced technologies in the aerospace field.
