Qatar University And Qatar Shell Launch New Programme To Foster Youth Entrepreneurship
In a significant move towards fostering entrepreneurship among Qatari youth, Qatar University (QU) and Qatar Shell have unveiled the Shell Intilaaqah programme. This student entrepreneurship development pilot initiative, announced during the recent Qatar Economic Forum, aims to nurture the entrepreneurial talents of Qatari students. The programme is tailored to imbue participants with essential business and soft skills, boosting their confidence to launch and run successful enterprises.
At the heart of this collaboration is the mutual goal of Qatar Shell and Qatar University to contribute to the country's social and economic development. Richard Tallant, Qatar Shell Executive Vice President and Managing Director, highlighted the importance of the initiative, saying, "Our collaboration with Qatar University to launch Shell Intilaaqah in Qatar underscores our mutual commitment to nurturing local talent and bolstering Qatar's social and economic growth. Through Shell Intilaaqah, we aim to inspire and empower entrepreneurs to develop innovative solutions to shape the future."
The programme will be implemented locally by Qatar University's Center for Entrepreneurship and Organisational Excellence (CEOE). The centre will adapt Shell's curriculum to suit the needs of the inaugural Shell Intilaaqah cohort, ensuring a perfect blend of global insights and local relevance. Participants will benefit from personalised advisory services and coaching from business experts, designed to navigate the unique challenges of Qatar's business landscape.
Aligned with the objectives of Qatar Vision 2030, Shell Intilaaqah is set to commence in the next academic year and will be available in both Arabic and English. The program is open to all Qatar University students who are 18 years of age or older, offering them an unprecedented opportunity to engage with real-world business challenges.
