GETEX Spring 2024: Dubai Hosts Prestigious Global Education Exhibition

The Global Education and Training Exhibition (GETEX), a premier event in the education sector, has commenced, showcasing a wide range of academic programs from around 200 universities across 30 countries. This significant event, which offers nearly 2,500 course options, was inaugurated by Aisha Abdulla Miran, Director General of the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA), at the Dubai World Trade Centre. The exhibition, which runs from April 24 to 26, is under the patronage of Sheikh Nahyan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence.

GETEX 2024 stands as a pivotal platform for students to explore educational opportunities in emerging and traditional career fields, including computing, technological advancements, medicine and sciences, leadership, among others. The event is anticipated to attract over 20,000 visitors, offering innovative programs and networking opportunities that foster international collaboration and educational progress.

Miran emphasized KHDA's dedication to empowering students with the necessary tools to make informed decisions regarding their higher education pathways. She highlighted the presence of 38 KHDA-licensed and accredited universities at the exhibition, offering more than 650 programs in various disciplines such as business, life sciences, gaming, and AI. Miran also noted a significant 12% growth in enrolments at Dubai’s private universities this year, underscoring the city's esteemed position as a hub for high-quality education in the region.

This year's edition of GETEX features the second Academia Industry Innovation Conference under the theme ‘Educating Future Leaders and Innovators,’ with a special focus on artificial intelligence. The conference includes an array of workshops, seminars, discussions, an AI hackathon, AI startup showcase, youth career counselling sessions, a youth internship fair, AI innovation awards, and roundtable discussions with educators and professionals. Additionally, over 30 seminars are scheduled to guide students towards their desired academic paths.

Tanya Mokle, Director of GETEX, expressed enthusiasm for the growing diversity of courses, universities, and themes each year.
