Dubai Cares Rolls Out Second Phase Of 'Students For Students' Initiative To Support Education
Dubai Cares, a key component of the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives (MBRGI), is advancing its community engagement efforts with the launch of the second phase of the "Students for Students" initiative. This unique program is designed to mobilize students in the UAE to support their peers from low-income backgrounds by ensuring they have the necessary educational supplies to succeed.
As part of this initiative, schools across the UAE will host a "volunteer day," dedicating their time to assemble and distribute 9,000 school kits funded by the efforts of students from the participating institutions. These packing activities are scheduled to take place from the 10th to the 25th of June at various schools involved in the initiative. Following the assembly phase, Dubai Cares will take on the role of distributing these kits to charity schools and organizations within the UAE, aiming to have them reach the beneficiaries before the commencement of the new academic year.

The initiative's first phase saw students from 14 participating schools come together to organize a variety of fundraising events, including spring fairs, bake sales, and games. Through these events, they successfully raised a total of AED720,000. These funds were then utilized to purchase essential school supplies, laying the groundwork for the ongoing phase of the initiative. The substantial amount raised highlights the commitment and enthusiasm of the students towards supporting education within their community.
By involving students in the fundraising and distribution process, "Students for Students" not only aids in supplying educational materials to those in need but also fosters a sense of responsibility, solidarity, and community service among the participants. The initiative underscores the importance of collective efforts in making a significant difference in the lives of underprivileged students, enabling them to pursue their educational goals without hindrance.
As the initiative enters its second phase, the focus is on expanding its reach and impact, ensuring that more students from low-income backgrounds have the resources they need to thrive academically. With the continued support of the participating schools and the wider community, "Students for Students" stands as a testament to the power of community-driven efforts in promoting education and fostering a more inclusive society.
The success of the "Students for Students" initiative serves as an inspiring example of how collaboration and community engagement can effectively address educational disparities. Through such initiatives, Dubai Cares continues to play a pivotal role in supporting education for all, aligned with its broader mission under the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives.
