DIDI Launches Dh10,000 Ramadan Scholarships To Nurture Future Design Leaders

In an effort to foster a new generation of design thinkers and leaders, aligned with the Dubai Creative Economic Strategy, the Dubai Institute of Design and Innovation (DIDI) has announced a significant discount on tuition fees during the Holy Month of Ramadan. This initiative aims to make the institute's pioneering multidisciplinary Bachelor of Design programme more accessible to a broader group of students. For those securing their admission for the September 2024 intake during the Holy Month, DIDI is offering a reduction of Dh10,000 on first-year tuition fees.

Mohammad Abdullah, President of DIDI, emphasised the importance of equipping students with design thinking skills, especially in an era dominated by digital technologies and a knowledge-driven economy. "By providing easier access to our design education program during Ramadan, we hope to attract a wider array of students. This initiative is part of our commitment to contributing positively to the community and enabling students to develop solutions that are innovative, socially relevant, and digitally advanced," Abdullah stated.

The discount is not only a reflection of DIDI's dedication to nurturing talent but also an effort to support students facing financial challenges in pursuing higher education. Valid exclusively for the 2024 academic year, the discount is open to both domestic and international applicants to DIDI's Bachelor of Design programme. This unique curriculum, developed in collaboration with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and The New School's Parsons School of Design, allows students to blend two of four disciplines: Product Design, Multimedia Design, Fashion Design, and Strategic Design Management. Applicants must submit their applications and tuition deposits by the end of Ramadan to be eligible for the Dh10,000 reduction in their first-year tuition fees.

The program offers an immersive educational experience, starting with foundational skills in visual and digital design, as well as entrepreneurship. It progresses to a cross-disciplinary academic journey, equipping students with a blend of design expertise, engineering knowledge, and business management skills.
