Saudi Arabia: Afforestation Techniques Forum Educates Students On Environmental Sustainability

The Exhibition and International Forum on Afforestation Techniques recently hosted a group of school students. This initiative aimed to educate them about Saudi Arabia's efforts in environmental sustainability, biodiversity protection, and climate change mitigation. Students explored various sections, learning about national projects and advanced afforestation technologies. They praised the exhibition's organisation and content for enhancing environmental awareness among young people.

Student Aseel Al-Khurdli expressed excitement over the innovative technologies showcased. "I learned many things, including how to protect wildlife reserves and the use of drones for planting 1,000 seeds in just 30 minutes," he said. Abdulmalik Al-Sultan found value in understanding Saudi Arabia’s 2030 agricultural goals and rapid farming technologies.

Abdulmohsen Al-Sa’na highlighted the role of technology in modern farming advancements. Meanwhile, Abdulrahman Al-Hussan was pleased to learn about submarines and water analysis. He noted the importance of advanced submarines in detecting and analysing water to support sustainable water resource management.

The exhibition aims to raise community awareness through such initiatives, especially among younger generations. It emphasises the significance of trees, their conservation, and promoting positive environmental practices while discouraging harmful ones.

The Exhibition and International Forum on Afforestation Techniques continues to welcome school groups, international delegations, and interested visitors. This event runs alongside COP16, the 16th session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD), until December 13.
