UAE Widens Access To Corporate Tax Registration With 23 New Centres
The Federal Tax Authority (FTA) of the UAE has recently introduced a new service for Corporate Tax registration requests, now accessible through 23 Government Service Centres spread across the nation. This initiative is aimed at simplifying the registration process for taxpayers by allowing them to use the "EmaraTax" platform directly. This digital tax service is available around the clock, ensuring that assistance is readily available for those in need. Additionally, taxpayers have the option to consult accredited tax agents, whose details can be found on the FTA's official website.
This development is part of a broader strategy by the FTA to enhance tax compliance among businesses by improving access to necessary services. The Government Service Centres, equipped with electronic services that adhere to government standards, are staffed by professionals trained to assist with Corporate Tax registration. The process includes verification of data entered electronically, followed by an internal review by FTA experts. Successful applicants will receive their Tax Registration Number (TRN) via email.

To further facilitate this service, the FTA has entered into cooperation agreements with several government service centres, ensuring they are well-equipped to handle Corporate Tax registration requests efficiently. These centres are listed on the FTA’s website for easy reference. The aim is to not only streamline the registration process but also to improve overall tax compliance rates within the UAE.
Khalid Ali Al Bustani, Director-General of the FTA, emphasized the importance of adhering to specified timeframes for submitting Corporate Tax registration applications. He highlighted that taxable entities with licences issued in January and February must complete their applications by 31st May 2024 to avoid penalties. Al Bustani also noted that this initiative aligns with the FTA's broader development plans and its commitment to expanding service channels following the implementation of Corporate Tax in June of the previous year.
Zahra Al Dahmani, Director of Taxpayer Services Department at the FTA, mentioned that strategic partnerships have been instrumental in preparing for this launch. The collaboration aims to ensure that services provided at accredited centres meet high standards and customer expectations.
The FTA also reiterated that Corporate Tax registration remains accessible 24/7 via the EmaraTax platform. This streamlined process involves four steps and takes approximately 30 minutes to complete. For those already registered for Value Added Tax (VAT) or Excise Tax, accessing their accounts on EmaraTax allows them to easily submit a Corporate Tax registration request and upload necessary documents. Upon approval, a TRN specific to Corporate Tax will be generated.
For new users subject to Corporate Tax but not yet registered, creating a new profile on the EmaraTax platform is required. This involves using an email address and phone number to create an account, after which users can proceed with their Corporate Tax registration by selecting the appropriate option and completing the process.
This initiative underscores the FTA's commitment to enhancing tax compliance and simplifying processes for taxpayers in the UAE. By expanding service channels and providing comprehensive support through both digital platforms and Government Service Centres, the FTA aims to facilitate a smoother transition into corporate tax compliance for businesses across the country.
