Nahyan Bin Mubarak To Inaugurate National Festival Of Tolerance In Abu Dhabi This Friday
The seventh National Festival of Tolerance and Coexistence is set to commence on Friday evening at Umm Al Emarat Park in Abu Dhabi. Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, will inaugurate the event. Organised by the Ministry of Tolerance and Coexistence, the festival runs from 14th to 18th November.
China has been invited as the Guest of Honour for this year's festival. The event aims to engage all segments of UAE society, including citizens, residents, families, children, and students. The theme "Hand in Hand" underscores community involvement and promotes a global message of tolerance, coexistence, and human fraternity.
Sheikh Nahyan will lead the "Tolerance March to Mars" during the festival. This march will include thinkers, officials, ambassadors, and community members. The event serves as a national occasion to celebrate the International Day for Tolerance. It highlights the UAE’s leading role in promoting tolerance and coexistence.
In his remarks about the festival, Sheikh Nahyan stated: "The festival is a national occasion to mark the International Day for Tolerance, highlighting the UAE’s pioneering experience in promoting tolerance, coexistence, and respect for others while showcasing global best practices in fostering peace and cooperation among all."
The festival also pays tribute to Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan's legacy. His words and actions are celebrated as a model of tolerance and human fraternity. Sheikh Nahyan emphasised that President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan continues this path to ensure the UAE remains a beacon of peaceful coexistence globally.
Sheikh Nahyan expressed gratitude for China's participation as Guest of Honour. He appreciated the involvement of diverse cultures in this significant event. The festival embodies communication, understanding, and dialogue among nations under the overarching theme of tolerance.
This celebration not only honours past achievements but also looks forward to future collaborations that enhance peace and cooperation worldwide. By bringing together various cultures, it fosters an environment where dialogue thrives.
