Federal Tax Authority Recognises Strategic Partners At 2024 Forum In Dubai

Khalid Ali Al Bustani, Director General of the Federal Tax Authority (FTA), highlighted 2024 as a pivotal year for the Authority. He noted that numerous development and modernisation projects have been executed to align with the nation's digital transformation strategy. The Authority has expanded electronic connectivity with partners to enhance service integration and facilitate information exchange.

The FTA has made significant strides in implementing corporate tax this year. Hundreds of thousands have registered for corporate tax, supported by an ongoing awareness campaign emphasising tax compliance's importance and requirements. This was discussed at the second forum of the FTA’s strategic partners for 2024, held in Dubai, where over 60 public and private sector partners were honoured.

FTA Celebrates Strategic Partners at Forum

Al Bustani stated that the Authority continues to launch various digital transformation projects in the tax sector. These initiatives aim to align with the government's strategy for smart service transformation through smooth and proactive digital procedures. The efforts focus on eliminating bureaucracy while maintaining high customer satisfaction levels.

The Authority plans to achieve 70 bureaucracy-free operations in its services during the next phase. Al Bustani explained that these plans have already shown positive results towards this goal, reflecting a commitment to enhancing service efficiency.

"The UAE has succeeded in establishing an advanced tax system in terms of legislation, procedures and technology, which keeps pace with and interacts with local and external variables, and encourages smooth self-tax compliance with fully electronic mechanisms in accordance with the best standards," said Al Bustani.

The strategic partnerships formed by the Authority over seven years have been integral to implementing a successful tax system. These partnerships have fostered integration and dynamism between public and private sectors, contributing significantly to expanding the customer base.

Strategic Partnerships and Goals

Al Bustani elaborated on how these partnerships have strengthened the Authority's position within the Emirati community. They have played a crucial role in achieving goals such as diversifying income sources, promoting economic and social development, and realising leadership's vision for enhanced government services.

The FTA has taken essential steps to provide top-notch technological services encouraging taxpayers towards self-compliance. This approach is part of policies promoting creativity and innovation based on understanding customer needs and aspirations.

Future Plans for Tax Awareness

The Authority implements a comprehensive strategy to continuously elevate tax awareness levels. Al Bustani emphasised their commitment to enhancing cooperation with stakeholders for successful strategic plan implementation over the next two years. Key objectives include developing efficient tax policies, improving procedural systems, and combating tax evasion.

The Director General honoured representatives from strategic partners, expressing gratitude for their constructive cooperation contributing to UAE's advancement and leadership.
