Fabtech Partners With Groupe M To Boost UAE’s Nuclear And Sustainable Energy Sectors
In a notable stride towards fostering innovation and sustainable development within the UAE's nuclear and sustainable energies sectors, Fabtech Engineering has partnered with French industrial giant Groupe M. The partnership also builds on the flourishing economic relationship between the UAE and France, which saw a 16.8% increase in bilateral trade exchange in 2022, reaching AED29.4 billion.
This collaboration, rooted in Dubai Industrial City, aims to extend Fabtech's nuclear sector offerings by promoting its 'Made in UAE' products. The partnership will focus on developing comprehensive engineering, manufacturing, and onsite product solutions, aligning with the long-term objectives of the UAE Energy Strategy 2050.

This alliance underscores a mutual commitment to environmental responsibility and industrial growth, positioning both companies at the forefront of the low-carbon nuclear energy sector.
This strategic partnership was formalised in a ceremony that saw the participation of notable figures, including Nicolas Niemtchinow, Ambassador of the French Republic to the UAE, and Anouar Mekkas, Nuclear and Renewable Energy Adviser at the French Embassy in Saudi Arabia and the UAE.
Representatives from Dubai Industrial City, the French Nuclear Strategic Committee, Business France, Trouvay Cauvin, and the French Chamber of Commerce and Industry in UAE also attended. Dr. Harry Moraes, Chairman of Fabtech Engineering, and Fabien Jeoffroy, Vice President of Business Development at Fabtech, represented their company in signing the agreement with Groupe M's Chairman, Julien Monteiro, and Deputy CEO Pierre-Laurent Buch.
Deputy CEO of Groupe M, Pierre-Laurent Buch, highlighted the strong bilateral ties between the UAE and France, noting that this agreement will catalyze significant growth in the region, especially within the nuclear and new energy sectors. Buch's remarks reflect a shared vision of leveraging combined expertise to offer high-value solutions to an expanding clientele.
Fabien Jeoffroy, Vice President of Fabtech, also shared his optimism, pointing to Dubai Industrial City's state-of-the-art infrastructure as a pivotal factor in their expansion strategy. He remarked on the importance of innovation within the burgeoning low-carbon nuclear energy sector and expressed Fabtech's dedication to supporting environmentally sustainable industrial growth through this partnership.
In line with their commitment to sustainability and innovation, Fabtech plans to upgrade its 2.1 million sq.ft. facility at Dubai Industrial City. The enhancement of the facility is part of the broader strategy to meet the demand for locally sourced solutions and streamline site support operations, thereby reinforcing the UAE's standing in the clean energy sector.
Saud Abu Alshawareb, Executive Vice President of Industrial at TECOM Group PJSC, underscored the importance of nurturing homegrown knowledge to build a vibrant and sustainable industrial sector. He praised the partnership between Fabtech and Groupe M as a testament to Dubai Industrial City's commitment to fostering innovation and strategic alliances.
According to Alshawareb, such collaborations play a crucial role in advancing Dubai and the UAE's leadership in the clean energy sector, aligning with initiatives like Operation 300bn, Make it in the Emirates, UAE Energy Strategy 2050, and the Dubai Economic Agenda 'D33’.
Since its inception in 2010, Fabtech Engineering has become a key player in serving the heavy engineering demand across various sectors, including energy, utilities, food and beverage, and chemicals. This strategic alliance with Groupe M is anticipated to accelerate Fabtech's growth, leveraging successful partnerships within the energy sector.
Dubai Industrial City, home to over 1,100 customers and 350 operational factories, boasts a strategic location near Al Maktoum International Airport, Jebel Ali Port, and key regional roadways. Its intelligent masterplan, featuring six sector-specific zones, aims to nurture the circular economy. It is part of TECOM Group's portfolio, which includes notable business districts such as Dubai Internet City, Dubai Media City, and Dubai Design District (d3), among others.
