FTA Sets 30th June Deadline For Corporate Tax Registration For March, April Licence Holders

The Federal Tax Authority (FTA) is reminding Resident Juridical Persons with licences issued in March and April to submit their Tax Registration application for Corporate Tax by 30th June 2024. This reminder aims to help avoid Administrative Penalties.

This initiative is part of the FTA's ongoing efforts to ensure compliance with FTA Decision No. 3 of 2024. The decision outlines the timelines for Corporate Tax registration under Federal Decree Law No. 47 of 2022 on the Taxation of Corporations and Businesses.

Corporate Tax Deadline on 30th June

Failure to register within the specified timelines will result in an Administrative Penalty of AED10,000. The FTA emphasised the importance of adhering to these deadlines, which came into effect on 1st March 2024.

The FTA Decision specifies timelines for various categories of Taxable Persons, including both Resident and Non-Resident Persons. The FTA has issued a Public Clarification detailing these timelines and providing examples for better understanding.

According to the Public Clarification, Resident Juridical Persons incorporated before 1st March 2024 must submit their application based on the month of their Licence issuance. If a Licence expired before this date, the original issuance month remains the reference.

For those with multiple Licences, the earliest issuance date determines the deadline. Juridical persons incorporated after 1st March 2024 must submit their application within three months from their incorporation date.

Corporate Tax registration is available through the "EmaraTax" digital tax services platform, accessible 24/7. The simplified process involves four main steps and takes approximately 30 minutes.

To register, users must create an account using their email and phone number, submit required documents, obtain approval, and receive a Corporate Tax registration number (Corporate TRN). The service can be accessed at: https://eservices.tax.gov.ae/

Alternative Registration Channels

The FTA also allows registration through authorised tax agents listed on its website. Additionally, taxpayers can register at various Government Service Centres across the UAE, which provide electronic services managed by trained personnel.

The FTA encourages Taxable Persons to review the Corporate Tax Law and all related guidelines available on its official website: https://tax.gov.ae/en/default.aspx
