Call Of The People Of Qiblah Signed At Intra-Islamic Dialogue Conference In Bahrain To Promote Unity
The Intra-Islamic Dialogue Conference in Manama, Bahrain, concluded with the endorsement of "The Call of the People of Qiblah." This charter promotes dialogue and understanding among Islamic sects. The event was attended by His Eminence Prof. Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb, Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, and over 400 scholars and leaders.
The declaration emphasises the unity of the 'Muslim Ummah,' ordained by Allah as a singular nation. It aims to foster mutual affection and compassion among Muslims, serving as a guiding light for humanity. The call highlights that Islamic fraternity is deeply rooted and extends beyond mere proximity among Muslims.

The charter acknowledges that doctrinal diversity is natural and situational. It stresses that these differences are legitimate and should remain untouched. Attempts to amalgamate or blend these schools into one are deemed impractical and irrational, thus not pursued.
Participants recognised essential elements for the Muslim Ummah to reclaim its renaissance. They emphasised asserting its presence on both Islamic and global stages. The unity of the Muslim Ummah is described as a sacred covenant, not subject to compromise or negligence.
The call underscores that maintaining unity is imperative. It must be consciously upheld, reflected in conduct, and embedded in educational curricula. This commitment ensures the enduring strength of Islamic fraternity among people of the Qiblah.
The conference's inaugural session was hosted by Bahrain under King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa's patronage on 19th-20th February. This gathering aimed to solidify the foundation for nurturing mutual affection among Muslims while fostering Islamic fraternity.
