The source of this exciting development is WABetaInfo, a well-regarded tracker of new and upcoming features within the app. The insight emerged from a recent WhatsApp beta for Android version 2.24.7.13, which contained code hinting at this AI-powered image editor. At this stage, the feature is not available for beta testers to try, indicating it's in the early phases of development.
A sneak peek into this upcoming feature was provided through a leaked screenshot, showcasing a green icon atop the image sending interface within WhatsApp for Android. This icon reveals three options upon interaction: Backdrop, Restyle, and Expand. The specifics of these options are yet to be fully disclosed as the feature undergoes further development.
