Samsung Electronics Secures Leading Spot In Global OLED Monitor Market
In a notable achievement within the competitive display market, Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. has emerged as a leader in global sales of OLED monitors, a mere year following the introduction of its inaugural OLED model, the 34" Odyssey OLED G8 (G85SB model), designed specifically for gaming enthusiasts. This accomplishment, as reported by the International Data Corporation (IDC), underscores Samsung's significant 34.7% market share in terms of total revenue and a commanding 28.3% share in sales volume of OLED monitors sold in 2023.
Hoon Chung, Executive Vice President of Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics, commented on this milestone, highlighting the intense competition within the OLED monitor sector. Chung emphasized that Samsung's success is attributed to its commitment to innovation and understanding consumer demands, particularly in the realm of high-performance gaming monitors.

Beyond its triumphs in the OLED segment, Samsung has also maintained its supremacy in the broader global gaming monitor market for five consecutive years, boasting a 20.8% market share based on total revenue. This sustained leadership reflects the company's continuous effort to innovate and the positive reception of its products among experts and gaming enthusiasts alike.
At CES 2024, Samsung signaled its ambition to expand its OLED monitor offerings by announcing three new models, each designed to cater to the specific needs of gamers. These additions include the Odyssey OLED G8 (G80SD model) featuring a 32" 4K UHD resolution, the Odyssey OLED G6 (G60SD model) with a 27" QHD resolution, and an updated Odyssey OLED G9 (G95SD model) boasting a 49" dual QHD resolution. Each model is equipped with high refresh rates and minimal response times, showcasing Samsung's dedication to high-performance gaming experiences.
The Odyssey OLED G9, in particular, has already garnered significant attention, earning the title of a CES® 2024 Innovation Awards Honoree, which attests to Samsung's leadership and innovation in the technology sphere.
Looking forward, Samsung plans to further diversify its gaming monitor lineup with new Odyssey OLED models, leveraging its proprietary OLED technology. This strategy follows the success of the Odyssey Neo series, which introduced Quantum Mini LED technology, and the Odyssey Ark, renowned for its innovative interface and design.
Samsung's continued dominance in the gaming monitor market, highlighted by its latest OLED offerings, demonstrates the company's commitment to staying at the forefront of display technology.
