Samsung Galaxy Watch To Enhance Health Tracking With Galaxy AI Integration
Earlier this year, Samsung announced its commitment to broadening the scope of Galaxy AI, initially launched with the Galaxy S24 series, to a wider array of devices. Keeping true to its word, Samsung is set to enhance the Galaxy Watch by integrating Galaxy AI, aiming to provide users with a more personalized and secure health experience. This integration combines the capabilities of the on-device large language model (LLM) with the extensive features of the Samsung Health app, marking a significant stride in health and wellness technology.
Samsung's vision of delivering an advanced health and wellness experience is further realized through the integration of Galaxy AI with Samsung Health. This combination is set to offer users deeper and more comprehensive insights into their health patterns. Features such as the Energy Score will analyze personal health metrics—including sleep, activity, and heart rate—to offer a more informed perspective on daily wellness. Additionally, the inclusion of on-device LLM will provide personalized insight messages, further enhancing user understanding of their health metrics.

The new features will debut on the upcoming Galaxy Watch lineup through One UI 6 Watch, set to be available later this year. A select group of Galaxy Watch users will receive early access to One UI 6 Watch Beta starting in June, offering a glimpse into the enhanced capabilities that Galaxy AI will bring to Samsung's health and wellness offerings. As Samsung continues to innovate, users can look forward to experiencing the full potential of Galaxy AI in conjunction with the advanced hardware of the new Galaxy Watch series.
Advancements in Precision and Accuracy
Accurate health metrics are crucial for delivering a superior health experience. Samsung is enhancing its health algorithms and tracking tools to offer more detailed and personalized insights. The improvement of the sleep AI algorithm will provide users with in-depth sleep insights, including new sleep indicators such as movement during sleep, time in bed, and various heart and respiratory rates. These enhancements aim to help users better understand and improve their sleep patterns.
Revolutionizing Fitness Features
Samsung is set to introduce all-new fitness features that provide intelligent and effortless physical capacity measurements, traditionally achievable only with sophisticated equipment. These features will offer detailed Aerobic Threshold (AT) / Anaerobic Threshold (AnT) Heart Rate Zone metrics for runners and Functional Threshold Power (FTP) metrics for cyclists, enabling highly efficient training sessions based on AI data analysis. Additionally, the new Workout Routine and Race features will allow users to personalize their workouts and track progress with ease, enhancing motivation and training efficiency.
Junho Park, VP and Head of the Galaxy Ecosystem Product Planning Team at Samsung Electronics, expressed enthusiasm for the potential of Galaxy AI to transform user experiences across the Samsung ecosystem.
"By expanding the power of Galaxy AI across our ecosystem, we're looking to open up all new possibilities with optimized and connected experiences that offer users greater personalization and intelligence," he stated. The integration of Galaxy AI into the Galaxy Watch represents the beginning of this exciting journey, with plans to showcase further integrations across the Galaxy portfolio in the near future.
